Haluska returned to Albany and began a career with the US government at the Watervliet Arsenal as a gauge designer acquiring multiple design patents, until his retirement in 1977. Frank than pursued his second career with his wife. Eleanor as co-owners of Yankee Peddler Antiques in Loudonville, N.Y.

LOUDONVILLE Frank S. Haluska, 88, of Loudonville, N.Y., passed away May 11, 2010 at St. Peter's Hospital. Born in East Berne, Frank was the son of the late John Haluska and Mary Stemple-Haluska. Frank joined the US Navy during World War II and served in the Pacific Theatre. Upon his discharge, he returned to Albany and began a career with the US government at the Watervliet Arsenal as a gauge designer acquiring multiple design patents, until his retirement in 1977. Frank than pursued his second career with his wife. Eleanor as co-owners of Yankee Peddler Antiques in Loudonville, N.Y. Frank was also an accomplished craftsman and wood worker. His handmade chess sets and walking sticks will remain family keepsakes. Frank was the beloved husband of his wife, Eleanor, and father of Mark (Tana), Jill (James) Alund, Jacqueline Palkovic and Michael; much loved grandfather of Jimmy, Jane and John Alund and Andrea, Cassandra, and Alex Palkovic. He is also survived by two sisters, Martha Gary and Emily Chase, both of East Berne. He was predeceased by three brothers, Joseph, John, and Charles; and three sisters, Elsie Megas, Helen Crooks and Dorothy Robinson. Funeral services private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Frank's memory may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, PO Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301.
