Kiwanis Club of the Helderbergs 2012 Speaker Schedule
Helderberg Kiwanis announces speakers' program
To the Editor:
Under the leadership of speaker chairperson Helen Lounsbury, a wide-ranging program has been developed for the 2011-12 Kiwanis year.
For the balance of 2011, speakers will be:
— Nov. 16: Pete Bassler will give an introduction to dowsing, living up to the saying, "Where Pete goes, water flows";
— Nov. 23: Ralph Miller, the Berne Town Historian, will give a talk called "Ebbs and Flows in the Helderbergs: An Overview of the Influxes and Outfluxes, Groups, Reasons, Early Businessmen, and the Early Kiwanis Club"; and
— Dec. 14: Colonel Gerald Larghe, of the United States Marine Corps will speak about "The Yellow Ribbon Program."
The Kiwanis Club invites one and all to join us for these interesting speakers at the Highlands Tavern and Restaurant on the Berne-Altamont Road at 6 p.m. Come and increase your knowledge, find out about Kiwanis and its commitment to the Hilltowns, meet your neighbors who are members, and enjoy a sociable time.
