Joseph was the son of the late John and Mary Haluska. He worked for Tobin Packing of Albany for more than 32 years as a welder, retiring in 1974. Joseph also worked as a welder of battleships in the Brooklyn Navy Yard for several years. Mr. Haluska was a member and usher at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. He was an avid hunter and bowler in various leagues. He was the husband of Catherine Hammann Haluska; beloved father of Marcia Bahan and her husband, Robert of Loudonville and Lynne Salerno and her husband, Joseph of Albany, NY; brother of Martha Garry of Knox, NY, Dorothy Robinson of Voorheesville, Emily Chase of East Berne, Charles Haluska of East Berne, Frank Haluska of Loudonville and the late Elsie Megas, Helen Crooks and John Haluska; and beloved grandfather of Lori and Joseph Bahan. Funeral services, Friday morning, December 31, 1999 at 9:15 a.m. at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.), thence to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Colonie at 10:00. Calling hours will be Thursday evening from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Colonie. She was born and raised in Albany and had been a Loudonville resident for many years. Mrs. Haluska had worked as an office clerk for the former Tobin Packing Company. She was a former member of First Lutheran Church and its choir. She was an active member of the church council at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Loudonville and had coordinated many bake sales at the church. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph J. Haluska in December of last year.
