Obituary BERNE -- George J. England, 92, passed away peacefully at home Thursday, March 30, 2006. Mr. England was born and raised in Astoria, N.Y. and was a New York City fireman for 35 years. He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of World War II. He moved to the hilltowns 26 years ago. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Erika England; two daughters, Georgette and Marlene Elise, both of NYC; five grandchildren. A service will be held Saturday at 5 p.m. at the Fredendall Funeral Home, Altamont. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from 4-5 p.m. Contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 3 Winners Circle, Suite 300, Albany, NY 12205 or Mr. England's preferred charity, Capital City Rescue Mission, P.O.
