ALBERT I. GIBBS
KNOX — Albert I. Gibbs, 89, of Gibbs Road, died Monday, Aug. 12, (1991) at the Alliance Home in Carlisle, Pa. He was born in Binghamton on Aug. 9, 1902, the son of Floyd and Minnie Gibbs, and lived for over 60 years in the Knox area. Gibbs was a dairy farmer, in the town of Knox and - wns a member of the Dairyman's League and the Farm Burenu> Ho whs a deacon in the Westerlo Baptist Church and was very active in church work nil of his life.
Gibbs had a strong interest in missions all his life, according to his son, Rev. Floyd Gibbs of Knox. Three of his five children, including Floyd, went into mission work. His youngest son, Alan, died in the mission field in Benin, West Africa, in a 1974 train wreck: His only daughter, Alberta Dubisz, retired recently after more than 30 years as a missionary in Burkinn Foso, West Africa.
Gibbs is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Hiltsley Gibb; by Floyd and Alberta and by 11 grnndchildrerl and six great grandchildren. He was the father of the late Donald H. Gibbs, Alan C. Gibbs and Mary Gibbs. One great-grandchild is also deceased.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, at the Westerlo Baptist Church. Calling hours will be 5-9 p.m. Friday at the Fredendall Funeral Home, 199 Main St.,.Altamont, with interment in Knox cemetery. Those who wish may mak* contributions to the Westerlo Baptist Church or Camp Pinnacle.
