Irving T. MacMillen married Rachel Gibbs MacMillen in 1924. She was the daughter of Gibbs, Floyd E. (B. 1879). She died in April 1979 after over 58 years of married life. Their children were:

Irving MacMillen of Delmar died Saturday morning, Dec. 4, (1982) at home. He was 81.

Irving MacMillen of Delmar died Saturday morning, Dec. 4, (1982) at home. He was 81.
Irving was born in Albany Jan. 22, 1901, son of Nelson MacMillen and Jennie Osterhout.
A farmer in the Knox area for many years, he was a member of Knox Reformed Church and served on its consistory for a number of years.
His wife, Rachel Gibbs MacMillen preceded him in death in April 1979 after over 58 years of married life.
Survivors are two daughters and one son, Mrs. Beryl Anderson of liberty, Mrs. Leah Jean Miller of Wheaton, Ill., and John MacMillen of Delmar. His grandchildren are Mark Miller, Paul Miller, Jan Miller Weaver, John Miller, Amy Anderson, William Anderson, Marcia Anderson, Shelly MacMillen Taylor, Nancy MacMillen Barber and Laurel MacMillen Scudder. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
The MacMillens were members of Pineview Community Church, Washington Ave. Extension, Albany. They moved to Delmar in October 1971 where they enjoyed their retirement years. They also spent several winters in Florida.

Miller - MacMillen
Miss Leah Jean MacMillen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Irving T. MacMillen of Knox, became the bride of John E. Miller, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer C. Miller of North Caldwell, N. J., on Saturday afternoon at two o'clock at the Reformed-church in Knox. Rev. Norman E. VanderHart, pastor of the Glenville Reformed church, officiated at the double ring ceremony.
The bride wore a gown of sheer celaineses with a matching bertha and a yoke of chantilly lace with a fitted bodice and short train. She wore a finger-tip veil of net with a matching headpiece. She carried a cascade of white lilies, white roses and white pom poms. She was given in marriage by her father.
Beryl MacMillen. sister of the bride, was maid of honor, and wore light green marquisette. She carried an arm bouquet of yellow gladiolus. The headpiece was of matching flowers.
Bridesmaids were Miss Alberta Gibbs. cousin of the bride, in yellow, and Miss Mary Anna Gerhardt of Frewsburg and college roommate of the bride, in lavender. They each carried an arm bouquet of salmon colored gladiolus and wore matching headpieces. Kathie Hawes, cousin of the bride, was flower girl. She wore frosted pink organdy and scattered sweet peas.
David Miller of New York city was best man for his brother.
Ushers were Alvin O. Ramsley of Pittsfield, Mass., and Kenneth Kouwe of Syracuse. Both were college classmates of the groom.
Mrs. Chester Quay was organist. E. Georgre Sanville, baritone, of Philadelphia. was soloist.
Selections preceding the ceremony Were "The Ninety-first Psalm" and "If God Left Only You." As the bride.an' groom knelt, Mr. Sanvllle sang "The Lord's Prayer." At the reception, the selections were "Because" and "Through the Years." Mr. Sanville was a college classmate of both the bride and groom.
A reception for 175 guests was held at the bride's home immediately following the ceremony.
For traveling the bride chose a suit of dark brown gabardine with beige accessories. Her corsaige was a white orchid. They left for an undisclosed destination.
The bride is a graduate of Berne-Knox Central school, and attended Houghton college. Mr. Miller is a graduate of Houghton college, class of 1947. He received his master's degree from Columbia University in 1948. He also served in the U. S. Army during World War II. He Is employed with the Prudential Life Insurance company of Newark N. J.
On returning from their wedding trip they will reside at 505 Beardsley avenue, Bloomfield, N. J.

Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Cooke, Westerlo, have announced the engagement, of their daughter, Miss Lilda Raye Cooke, to John N. MacMillen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Irving MacMillen, Knox.
The wedding will be May 17 at Westerlo Baptist church. Miss Cooke, a graduate of Berne Knox Central school, is with the State Department of Taxation and Finance.
Mr. MacMillen, also a Bernc-Knox Central school graduate, is in the dairy farm business with his father.

MACMILLEN—COOKE
The Baptist church of Westerlo was the scene of a spring wedding on Saturday, May 17th, (1952) when Miss Lilda Raye Cooke became the bride of John Nelson MacMillen. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Cooke of Westerlo, and Mr. MacMillen is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Irving Mac Millen of Knox.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor length gown fashioned with a long sleeved fitted bodice of chantilly lace with a tulle illusion neckline and full tulle skirt over taffeta, made by her mother.
She carried a white orchid on a white Bible. Her maid of honor, a cousin, Miss Joan Ann Cooke, also of Westerlo, wore blue imported organdy over blue taffeta and a blue straw picture hat. She carried a colonial bouquet of yellow rose buds. For her brides-maids, the bride chose Miss Nancy Risley, Miss Carolyn Hannay and as junior bridesmaid, her cousin, Miss Janice Cooke, all of Westerlo. Each wore pink imported organdy floor length gowns over taffeta fashioned in the same style, and large pink straw hats. Each carried a colonial bouquet of pink rose buds and blue carnations. Little Cathy Ardon Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Smith of Springfield Gardens, Long Island, a cousin of the bride, served as flower girl. She wore a long yellow imported organdy gown, a natural straw bonnet and carried a basket of apple blossoms. The bride's mother wore grey silk shantung with a two-tonee grey coat with pale pink accessories, while Mrs. MacMillen wore a navy blue bolero style dress and navy blue accessories. Both wore corsages of pink flowers.
The groom chose his brother-in-law, John E. Miller, of Caldwell, N. J. as his best man. A cousin, Alan Gibbs, and. Reid Cooke, brother of the bride, were ushers. Peter Smith, cousin of the bride, was junior usher.
The Rev. Davis E. Gage, pastor of the Baptist church. of Westerlo, performed the double ring ceremony amid apple blossoms and lilac. The groom's sister, Miss Berle MacMillen, music teacher in Livingston Manor, was organist, and Mrs. Donald Moreland, wife of Rev. Donald Morelandj, Hi B. A. representative in Catskill. was soloist. Her renditions included:. "I Love Thee," "The Wedding Prayer," "The Pledge" and "The Lord's Prayer" The reception, for 150 relatives and friends was held in the Fellowship rooms of the church where decorating with apple blossoms, tulips, lillies of the valley carried out the simplicity of the garden settint of beautiful church ceremony.
After a ten-day honeymoon to Washington, D. C. and points south, Mr. and Mrs. MacMillen who are both graduates of Berne-Knox Central School are at home in Knox.

CHOSEN FOR ORCHESTRA
Miss Laurel Jean MacMillen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Barber of Pompano Beach, Fla., was selected to represent, the Pompano Beach Junior High school orchestra as a cellist in the 27th annual All-State Music Festival in Daytona Beach. The All-State Junior High Orchestra was made up of 60 students from 21 schools throughout the state of Florida.
They were directed by Paul Wolfe of New. College, Fla. Miss MacMillen studies cello with Burton Dines of the University of Miami. She is an 8th grade honor student and a member of the National Junior Honor Society, Laurel, formerly of Rotterdam, is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Irving MacMillen of Knox and Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Cooke of Westerlo.

Mrs. Catherine Haner has the distinction of haying a great great granddaughter born on her 94th birthday, Dec. 10. She is Erin Marie Scudder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Scudder from West Valley, Mrs. Scudder is the former Laurel McMillan, (MacMillen): daughter of John MacMillen and Mrs. Donald (Raye) Barber and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Cooke. Laurel is well-known in this area as she is a graduate of the Greenville High School and Houghton College where she majored in music. She is an accomplished musician and has been on the teaching staff at the West Valley School for the past few years.

Michael R. Taylor, Jr., son of Michael and Shelly MacMillen Taylor, was graduated June 1 from Belleville Tomslip High School in Belleville, Illinois.
The Taylor family has been back in the states from Korea this past year and is stationed at Scott Air Force Base. Michael, Jr. is the grandson of Raye Cooke Saddlemire of South Westerlo and John MacMillen of Delmar also the greatgrandson of Mrs. Clayton (Marie) Cooke of Westerlo.
