Mr. Lendrum was a life-long resident of the Town of Berne and a man always interested in the welfare of the community. He gave much of his time in the interest of the Berne Fire District, serving as a commissioner many years, during which time the fire house was built. He contributed much in the building of the Maccabee hall and the improvement of [[b:Woodlawn Cemetery|Woodlawn Cemetery]], of which he was a director and president many years.

A quiet Wedding occurred at the home of Mr. William Lendrum, near Berne, on Wednesday afternoon, June 20th, when their daughter, Miss Susan D. J. Lendrum was united in marriage to Mr. Charles S. Lainhart of Altamont, the ceremony being perfromed by Rev. M. L. Tate, in the presence of only near relatives of the contracting parties.

DANIEL J. LENDRUM
