Stanton Sholtes was born on September 17,1856 at Rock Road, Knox, Albany, NY. His parents were Jacob Sholtes(1817-1891) and Angelica Schell(1828-1906). Stanton was the fourth of nine children, all born on the Rock Road Sholtes farm.
