KNOX Stephen F. Shedina, 93, died at home Tuesday April 21, 2009. He was a Army medic serving in South Pacific during World War II. Stephen is survived by his wife, Elizabeth J. (Kolb) Shedina; two daughters, Lydia (Elmer) Ogaard of Knox and Marie A. Simon of Rockport, Texas; seven grandchildren, Stephen, Michael (Mandi), Erica, Diana, Wesley (Susan), Stephanie (Justin) and Kevin; three great-grandchildren, Alex, Nathan, and Jonathan; a stepbrother, William Przysiecki of Schoharie. He is predeceased by his son, Stephen F. Shedina Jr.; sister, Mary Cienciva; three brothers, William, Joseph and Charlie Shedina; a stepbrother, Roman Przysiecki; three stepsisters, Mary C. Smith, Helen Sprung and Julia Rener; as well as a son-in-law, Lawrence D. Simon. A funeral service will be conducted at 12 p.m. on May 1, 2009 at the Fredendall Home, Altamont, followed by an interment in Knox Cemetery.
