Birth
Hiram Wilday was born in 1817 in Berne, Albany County, NY to Peter Wilday (B. Sept 7, 1773, D. unk) and his wife Nancy Wilday (B. 1785, D. unk).[1][2] He was one of four children and had an older half brother.[1]
Marriage
On October 15, 1849 in Berne, Hiram married Laura Lany Like (B. 1833, D. after 1890) whose parents are unknown.[1][3]
They had the following children:

Life
In 1860 Hiram was working as a farmer and living in Berne with his wife and young family.[3] He did not own any property.[3]
Death
Hiram died from wounds on 24 Jun 1864 at City Point, Virgina and was buried at City Point National Cemetery, Hopewell , VA, Section D Site 928 on 26 Jun 1864. After his death, his wife Laura filed for his Civil War pension; unfortunately the date of that filing is illegible.[4] She was recorded as his widow in the 1890 US Veterans Census in Schoharie, Schoharie County, NY.[5]

HIRAM WILLDAY, of Bern, enlisted in Company I, Sixty-first Regiment, September, 1862. He was wounded in the right shoulder, in front of Petersburg, June 22, 1864. Died at City Point, June 25, 1864, and was buried there.
