Kiwanis Club of the Helderbergs Installs New Leaders
Helderberg Kiwanis installs new leaders
By Zenie Gladieux
On Oct. 13, the Kiwanis Club of the Helderbergs installed its new officers for 2010-11. Capital Division Lieutenant Governor Joe Wiley of the Albany Club was on hand to do the honors. He thanked the outgoing president, Beverly Filkins, of Altamont, for her excellent service to her club over the past year and commended the club for a good year.
He then installed the new officers: President Debra Vadalabene of East Berne, President-Elect Marty Herzog of East Berne, Secretary Zenie Gladieux of Berne, Treasurer Amy Pokorny of Knox, and director Pauline Williman of Knox.
He reminded the group that Kiwanis service is needed more than ever by the community in these difficult times, and that, if club members were joined by others, even more service could be given to those who need it.
Helderberg Kiwanis meets every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at The Highlands Restaurant on Route 156 in Knox. Visitors are always welcome. For more information, call me at 894-8589. (or email [email protected])
