Ralph was born in Albany, New York, on December 21, 1934 to Ralph and Rose Marie Turmel.[1]

He married and had five sons--Jeffrey, R. James, David, Michael, and John Turmel.[1]

Occupation

Mr. Turmel worked as a carpenter for over 40 years.[1]

Military Service

Mr. Turmel served in the U.S. Air Force during Korean Conflict.[1]

Death

Ralph passed away on October 14, 2008.[1]

Burial

Mr. Turmel was buried on October 20, 2008 in Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont.[1]

SUMMERFIELD, Fla. Ralph J. Turmel Jr., 73, passed away Tuesday, October 14, 2008. He was born in Albany on December 21, 1934, the son of the late Ralph and Rose Marie Turmel Sr. Ralph was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the U.S. Air Force. A longtime area resident of the Berne - Knox - Westerlo area, he had worked as a carpenter for over 40 years before moving to Summerfield, however spent most of his summers in N.Y. He is survived by his sons, Jeffrey (Kim) Turmel of Brookfield, Wis., R. James (Leigh) Turmel of Spartanburg, S.C., David (Melissa) Turmel of Albany and Michael Turmel of Saranac Lake; sisters, Marie Filkins of Summerfield, Evelyn Bader of Westerlo, Lorraine Quick of Delmar, Juliette Salisbury of Clarksville, Rose Marie Tomaszewski of Loudonville and Jeannette Kelafant of Clarksville; brothers, William Turmel of Albany and Lawrence Turmel of Summerfield; two grandchildren, Katie and Jackie Turmel; and dear friend, Dee Thurber of Summerfield. He was predeceased by a son, John; a brother, Eddie Turmel; and sisters, Alice Geel, Theresa Salisbury and Dolores Carl Paulus. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave., Delmar. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. Monday at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 35 Adams Pl., Delmar. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont.
