Born 1758 at Ipswitch, MA, (Rowley, MA) a son of Thomas Todd (1728 – 1816) and Elisebeth Carlton (1733 – 1820).

Marriage & Children

Paul Todd married Sarah (Sally) Brown on 16 Jan 1794. Sarah Brown was born on 19 Feb 1776 in Stonington, New London, Connecticut. She died on 8 Apr 1850. She was the daughter of Andrew Brown (22 Nov 1748 in Stonington, New London, Connecticut - 28 Jan 1813) and Sarah COBB (30 Sep 1750 in Stonington, New London, Connecticut- )


I do hereby certify that I am the widow of Paul Todd deceased, that I was married to the said Paul Todd on the sixteenth of January seventeen hundred ninety four at the town of Berne Co of Albany in the state of New York by the reverand McDonald.

That the said Paul Todd as she has been informed and believes served as a private soldier + also as a Sergeant during the American Revolution, that she has understood and believes from the said Paul Todd that at the time he entered such service he resided in (Ipswich - crossed out) Sutton in the County of Worcester in the State of Massachusetts, that he served in Colonel Balwdin' Regiment + in Captain Migills Company + also in Colonel Drury (??) Regiment + Captain Davis Company, that the said Paul Todd did on the twenty third day of September one thousand eight hundred and fifteen in the town of Berne and county of Albany where the said Paul Todd resided for twenty eight years previous to his death.

That she does not remember the names of any other of the officers under whom the said Paul Todd served nor does she remember any other fact related to the said service except she has above set forth. I further certify that my age is seventy two years and six months + that I now reside + have resided in the city of Troy for two years last and upwards.
