A motorcycle accident one night last week on Route 443 injured the drivers of two machines, but most sad of all two youths were killed Friday night (August 15, 1975) when in West Berne Gary Rendo of Knox and companion hit a tree with car.

GUILDERLAND CENTER Rolland A. (Ted) Rendo, 80, died on November 8, 2008. He is survived by his wife Eleanor Rendo; his son, Rick Rendo of Pennfield, N.Y.; his daughter, Shari Miller of Claverack, N.Y.; several grandchildren and four stepdaughters. Rolland is predeceased by his son Garry Rendo. Those who wish may call on Tuesday November 11, 2008 from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. at the Fredendall Funeral Home, Altamont. A graveside service will follow in the Knox Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.

GUILDERLAND Eleanor C. (Lewis) Rendo was called home on Monday, June 25, 2012 after a long illness. Eleanor was born on January 5, 1935 in Philadelphia to the late Howard and Sophia (Knipe) Lewis. Eleanor worked for the New York State Depart-ment of Taxation and Finance until she became the manager at the Fairwood Apartment Complex, where she worked for several years. Eleanor was well known for her beautiful knitting and crocheting handiwork which she donated to womens shelters and childrens hospitals. In addition to her parents, Eleanor was predeceased by her four brothers, Edwin, Howard, Irwin and Robert Lewis as well as husbands Samuel J. Melisi and Rolland A. Rendo. Eleanor is survived by four daughters, Linda M. Moak (Stephen) of Pennsylvania, Diana K. Russamano (Victor) of New Jersey, Maryann Melisi (Charles Van Alstyne) of Guilderland and Debra S. LaVare (Brian Hausman) of Palmyra. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and her dear friends, Barbara and Frank Pelleschi. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff of Guilderland Center Nursing Home for their care, kindness and support. They would also like to thank Pastors John Horn and JC Worsham of Lighthouse Baptist Church for their spiritual guidance and support. There are no calling hours and services are private.
