Seger - Quay
Miss Luella Quay, daughter of Mrs. Pauline Quay of Knox, and Robert L. Seger, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Seger of Ormond Beach, Fla., were married Saturday, Aug, 8, (1964) in the Knox Reformed church. Rev. Kenneth Wait of Akron, Ohio, uncle of the bridegroom, and Rev. Donald Hull of Knox, performed the double ring ceremony.
Traditional wedding music was played by Mrs. Chester Quay.
Given in marriage by her uncle, Victor Sturgess, the bride wore a floor length dress of silk organza, with a bell shaped skirt having a Swiss embroidered organdy applique around the bottom. A matching rose held her silk illusion veil and she carried white roses and lilies of the valley.
Miss Barbara Zirkel of Hempstead, Long Island, was maid of honor, and wore a street length gown of rose silk linette with a white nylon organdy overskirt, a matching flower hat, and carried white roses and baby pink carnations. Miss Gail Tourtellotte of Morris, Miss Dorothea Dorn of Huntington, and Miss Michele Beraducci of Syosset were bridesmaids. They wore street length dresses of pink silk linette with white nylon organdy overskirts and matching flower hats. They carried baby pink carnations. Gail Gardner, the bride's cousin, was flower girl and wore a pink silk linette dress with a white nylon organdy overskirt and a tiara of roses and carnations. She carried a nosegay similar to that of the bridesmaids. The bride's dress; bridesmaids' dresses and the flower girl's dress were made by the bride. Miss Zirkel made her own dress.
William Seger of Chicago, Ill. was best man for his brother. James Gardner, the bride's cousin and Robert Rowe, of Knox, and Richard Wright of Berne were ushers.
A reception for 175 guests followed in the church parlor.
After a wedding trip to Canada and Western New York, the couple will live on Taber Rd, Knox.
The bride, a graduate of Berne- Knox Central High school, is a senior at State University College in Oneonta, and will begin practice teaching at the Pinewood school, Schenectady, in September. Mr. Seger is a graduate of Berne-Knox and Cobleskill Agriculture-Technical Institute. He is employed by the Stme Department of Audit and "Control in Albany.
