Henry E. Briggs, 61, Westerlo, an educator who served and supervised schools in Albany and Schoharie counties for the last 36 years, died in Albany Medical Center hospital Mar. 9 (1966).

Rev. Roland L. Miller of the Westerlo Baptist church and Rev. Robert Fitzgerald of Moravia, a former pastor of the church, officiated at the funeral service held at Westerlo Baptist church Sunday afternoon. Interment was in the Westerlo Rural cemetery.

Masonic service was held at the Cunningham Funeral Home in Greenville Staurday at 7:30 p.m. and a service by the Town of Westerlo Volunteer Fire Co. at 8:30 p.m.

Henry E. Briggs, 61, Westerlo, an educator who served and supervised schools in Albany and Schoharie counties for the last 36 years, died in Albany Medical Center hospital Mar. 9 (1966).

Mr. Briggs was born in Albany Jan. 10, 1905, son of the late George and Estella Holly Briggs.

He was a graduate of Van Rensselaer High school, class of 1924, and held B.A. and M.A. degrees from New York State College for Teachers. He began his career in education as a teaching principal and then joined the science faculty of the Bethlehem Central School district.
