Birth

Andrew was born in Scranton on November 7, 1917[1] and lived in Westerlo before moving to Mountainside about 1997.[2]


Education

Mr. Dzik received a degree in education from the State University of New York at Albany and a master's degree in business.[2]


Occupation

Andrew retired as principal of Hudson Elementary School in Westerlo, New York. Prior to that, he was a teacher in the Hudson County (New Jersey) school district.[2]


Military Service

An Army veteran of World War II, Andrew was a staff sergeant with the 38th Infantry Unit in the Pacific Theater.[2]


Death

Mr. Dzik, died Sunday, August 28, 2005, in the New Jersey Veterans Memorial Home, Menlo Park.[2]

SCRANTON, Pa. - A service for Andrew Dzik, 87, of Mountainside, N.J., will be here at 11 a.m. tomorrow in the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home, 254-268 Railroad Ave. Mr. Dzik, who died Sunday in the New Jersey Veterans Memorial Home, Menlo Park, retired as principal of Hudson Elementary School in Westerlo, N.Y. Prior to that, he was a teacher in the Hudson County (N.J.) school district. An Army veteran of World War II, he was a staff sergeant with the 38th Infantry Unit in the Pacific Theater. He received a degree in education from the State University of New York at Albany and a master's degree in business. Born in Scranton, he lived in Westerlo before moving to Mountainside eight years ago. Surviving are his brother, Joseph, and sisters, Mary Gravelle and Julie Spinelli.
