Birth
Josiah Barber was born May 11, 1822 at Berne, NY, a son of Moses Barber. [1]
Marriage & Children
At about the year 1848 he married Emoline____ [1][2]and they had the following children:
- Chester Barber born in 1849 at Berne, he married Jane Dobbs[1][2]
- Justin Barber born in 1850 [3][1]
- Silas Barber born in 1852 [3]. [4][1]
- James Barber born in 1854[1]
- Orville Barber born in 1865[4][5][1]
- Lor Etta Barber born in 1871 in Schoharie Co., NY[5] She appeared on the 1880 census of Middleburgh in the household of her brother, Silas.
Death
Josiah died on January 18, 1879. Emeline died on October 1, 1879. Both, along with several of their children, Chester and Loretta, are buried in the Barber burial ground in Middleburgh.
