Suicide Victim
Edward J. Rendo, Sr., formerly of this area, shot, and killed himself at his home in Morris, N. Y., on Tuesday morning, May 8th.
He was born August 1, 1886, at Ballston Spa, son of the late Frederick Rendo. and Mary Coutchier. He married Cordelia Sanford at Altamont on May 27th, 1910. He had lived in Morris for the past 29 years where he had been engaged in farming. For the past several years he had been unable to work due to his health.
He is survived by his wife, Cordelia; three daughters, Mrs. Guy Tilley of New Milford, Pa.; Mrs. Leslie Arnold of Morris, and Mrs. Grayden Coons of Maple Grove; two sons, Edward, Jr., and Frederic, both of Morris; nine grandchildren, Guy, Jr Gorden, Joseph and Cordelia May; all of New Milford; Sanford and Bonnie Arnold, Shirley, Roy and Richard Rendo, all of Morris; two sisters, Mrs. Georgianna Stewart of Knox and Mrs. Victoria Finnegan of Schenectady; four brothers, Wilfred of Knox; George, Thompson's Lake; Andrew, Berne; Fred, also of Knox, and many nieces of nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p. m, Thursday, May. 10th, at. Sloan's Funeral parlor, with the Rev. Charles J. Dempsey, pastor of the Methodist church, officiating. Burial was in Hillington cemetery at Morris.
Otsego County Coroner Norman Getman issued a verdict of suicide.
