Charles Robert Mattice was born February 8, 1927 in the Town of Wright, NY., the son of Giles H. Mattice and Mildred Schell Mattice now of Wildwood, FL. His sister was:

  • Bertha Pierce and her husband, Kenneth of Wildwood, Fl;

Education

Military

Charles Mattice has served in the U.S. Marines during WWII, and recieved the Purple Heart for injuries incurred during the Battle of Okinawa.

Occupation

Charles Mattice had worked as a management specialist at the U.S. Army Depot in Voorheesville for many years until his retirement in 1965.

Charles R. Mattice married Phyllis. His children were:

Deceased Name: CHARLES R. MATTICE

ALTAMONT -- Charles R. Mattice, 70, died Monday, October 20, 1997 at his home in Altamont. Mr. Mattice was born in the Town of Wright, NY and had lived most of his life in the Altamont area. He has served in the U.S. Marines during WWII, and recieved the Purple Heart for injuries incurred during the Battle of Okinawa. He had worked as a management specialist at the U.S. Army Depot in Voorheesville for many years until his retirement in 1965. Mr. Mattice was a member of the Boyd Hilton V.F.W. Post #7062 in Altamont and the Helderberg Rod and Gun Club. He is survived by one son, Robert G. Mattice and his wife, Mary, both of Virginia Beach, VA; one daughter, Sharon Tighe of Albany; his mother, Mildred Mattice of Wildwood, FL; one sister, Bertha Pierce and her husband, Kenneth of Wildwood, Fl; four grandchildren, Sara and Kate Tighe, Kelly Mattice and David Fultz; He is also survived by several aunts, nieces and nephews. A private funeral service will be held at the Fredendall Funeral Home, 199 Main Street, Altamont, at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Altamont Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 56, Altamont, NY 12000.
