Birth
Johannes Reinhart was born on September 16, 1759 in Berne. He was the son of George Freidrich Reinhart and Catharina Froelich.

Military Service
Johannes served in the Revolutionary War. In his application for a pension in 1820, Johannes states that his family consists of "...a wife who is infirm, a daughter 34 who has been an invalid since her infancy and unable to perform any labors. A son fourteen and a granddaughter age 5 who has lost her mother."[1] Note: His wife was Margaret, age 56; the invalid daughter was named Catherine, born 1785/86; the 14 year old son was Adam; the 5 year old granddaughter was Lydia, whose mother is thought to have died in childbirth. DAR application accepted in 2007 for Carol Clemens using Johannes Reinhart's information. The NSDAR National number is 854450 and the Ancestor Number for Johannes Reinhart, New York, is A204610. Anyone who can trace their ancestry to Johannes can use this information to make a DAR or SAR application easier.
