RICHARD A. BARNISH
KNOX —Richard A. Barnish, 66, of Township Road, died at home Saturday after a long illness.
Born and raised in Chicopee, Mass., Barnish moved to Schenectady in 1950 and to Knox in 1955. He was a crane follower in the turbine department of the General Electric Co., in Schenectady for 25 years.
Barnish was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a communicant of St. Lucy's Church and a member of Boyd Hilton Poet 7062, VFW, both in Altamont.
Survivors include two sisters, Delia "Barney" Palombo of Knox and Lama Belisle of North Truro,. Mass; and a brother; Francis E. Barnish Of Knox.
A service was held Tuesday at St. Lucy's Church. Burial will be later in the spring in High Point Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Fredendall Funeral Home in Altamont. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Schenectady or to the Altamont Rescue Squad.
