Floyd E. Gibbs was born in the town of Knox March 4, 1879, son of Albert Gibbs and Eva Ann Ball. His siblings were:
- Cortland Palmer Gibbs-b. 21 May 1881-d.?. He married Julia Emma Van Woemer abt. 1900. They had 2 children; Susan E. Oliver(1903-1993), and Elizabeth W. Eldred (1905-1983).
- Franklin J. Gibbs-b. 30 Jun 1885-d. 20 Aug 1886.
- Anna B. Gibbs -b. 4 Nov 1886-d. 20 Oct 1979.She was a homemaker.She married farmerHenry Alson Miller (1876-1965) on 31 Jun 1905 at Town of Berne. They had 2 children; Hubert Henry Miller (1906-2001 and Chester Alson Miller (1908-1974).

Floyd E. Gibbs died at Albany, N. Y., Dec. 24, 1936, at the Hospital for Incurables, Albany, after a long period of ill health.

GIBBS - At Albany, N. Y., Dec. 24, 1936, Floyd E. Gibbs, husband of Minnie Mattice, aged 57 years. Funeral Sunday at 3 p.m. From the Knox Reformed Church. Friends may call Saturday evening at his residence near Knox, N. Y.
Knox Resident Dead After Long Illness
Floyd E. Gibbs, native of Knox, died last Thursday at the Hospital for Incurables, Albany, after a long period of ill health. Mr. Gibbs was born in the town of Knox March 4, 1879, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Gibbs, and lived there all his life with exception of eight years in Binghamton. Always a staunch Republican, he held various public offices including superintendent of highways, deputy sheriff and justice of the peace. Ill health forced his retirement from active work four years ago. He was a member of Berne Masonic Lodge for 18 years, and of the Knox Reformed church. He is survived by his wife, Minnie Mattice Gibbs; two daughters, Lillian and Rachael; a son, Albert; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Harry and Cortlan Gibbs, and two sisters, Mrs. Henry Miller and Mrs. Charles McDermott. The funeral was held Sunday at the Knox Reformed church, Rev. Norman Vander Hart officiating. Burial was in Woodlawn cemetery, Berne.
