Ada Lendrum passed away Tuesday evening at Albany Medical Center Hospital where she had been confined the past several weeks. The date might be July 19 or July 12.

ADA JONES LENDRUM
Funeral services were conducted from St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Berne Thursday morning for Mrs. Ada Lendrum who has passed away Tuesday evening at Albany Medical Center Hospital where she had been confined the past several weeks.
Born July 19, 1895, the daughter of the late Ackland and Sarah Wright Jones, she grew up in Berne and married Daniel J. Lendrum who predeceased her in 1957. She was a member of the Berne Lutheran Church and a charier member of Uhai Chapter #803 O.E.S. where she served as color bearer when the chapter was organized in 1927. She later served also in the chairs of Historian and at the point of Electa.
Ada Lendrum was the mother of Frederick D. Lendrum, Harold E. Lendrum and Mrs. Raymond (Marjorie) Shultes with whom she had lived the past many years. She was also step-mother of Mrs. James (Helen) VanNess of Delmar and sister of Howard Jones and the late Minnie Cowan, Avery Jones, Edwin Jones, Jesse Jones, Charles Jones, and Edna C. Jones. She is survived by 14 grandchildren, Steven Lendrum of Taber Road, Sharon Nevins of Round Lake, Nancy Lendrum of Gloucester, and Connie Lendrum of East Berne, Kenneth Lendrum of Glens Falls, Mrs. Daniel (Denise) Swezey of Helderberg Trail, Alan, Jill, Annette and Anita Lendrum of Taber'Road, Vickie and Ronnie Shultes of Berne, and Mrs. Christine Torey of Castleton and Mrs. Suzanne Boe of New Paitz, and also nine great-grandchildren and several nephews and nieces.
Officiating at the funeral service was the Rev. James K. Hilton and burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Mrs. William H. Cowan
Mrs. William H. Cowan, formerly Minnie Adelaide Jones, died July 7th (1951) at her residence near Altamont. The first of eight children of Ackland Jones and Sarah Wright, she was born, at Berne on Nov. 28, 1881. During, her entire life, she made her home within a few miles of her birthplace.
In early life, she became a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Berne. She was united in marriage to William H. Cowan; Rev. Karl Krahman, her pastor, was the officiating clergyman. Five children were born to this family. Four are now living, one daughter dying in infancy,
Funeral services were held July 1Oth at the Brunk Funeral home in Berne, Rev. Russell Greene officiating, with Rev. Everett Wright assisting. Burial was in Knox Cemetery. In addition to her four children, Mrs. Cowan is survived by her husband, nine grandchildren, one sister, and three brothers.
