Corinth, Oct. 18. — Ralph W. Combs, a seaman of the United States Navy stationed at League Island Navy Yard, Philadelphia, Penn., is spending a furlough at his home here.

The attandents were Ebben Cronquist and Miss Anna C. Jackson. The bride was dreesed in brown canton crepe and the bridesmaid wore black canton crepe.

Word has been received here by relatives that a son, George Nelson, has been born to Mr. and Mrs. Ralph W. Combs of Palenville. Mr. Combs is a former resident of Corinth and has many friends here.

Charles Combs Suffers Shock.

Mrs. E. M Jenks yesterday received word here of the illness of her father, Charles D. Combs, at the home of his son, Ralph W. Combs, in East Berne Mr Combs suffered a shock Sunday evening at 6 o'clock which afflicted him with paralysis of the left side and he is now confined to his bed Mr. Combs is a former resident of this village who has been making his home with his son for the last several years in Monroe and East Berne.

Charles D. Combs

Charles D. Combs, aged 80, who resided with his son, Ralph Combs, at South Berne, died suddenly of heart trouble on Thursday, Jan. 24th (1935)

He was well liked and many will regret his passing. He leaves as survivors two sons, Gerald and Ralph Combs, and three daughters, Mrs. E. M. Jenks, Mrs. E. Winslow and Mildred Combs.

Funeral services were conducted at the M. E. Church at Corinth, Rev. Morgan of the First Baptist church of Corinth officiating. Mr. Combs' father was a minister of the Corinth Baptist church years ago. Floyd Brunk, undertaker, was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Charles D. Combs Funeral

The funeral of Charles D. Combs, local resident whose sudden death occurred Thursday at the home of his son, Ralph Combs, East Berne, was conducted yesterday afternoon at 2 in the Methodist Episcopal Church, two hours after the arrival of the body in this village. The Rev. John W. Morgan, pastor of the Baptist Church, conducted the funeral service and preached the brief funeral sermon. He also sang Lead Kindly Light. There were a number of floral remembrances.

The body was placed in the local receiving vault pending burial in the spring in the Corinth Rural cemetery. At the vault the Rev. Mr. Morgan gave the committal prayers.

The bearers were Ralph W. Combs, Gerald Combs, Edmund Jenks Sr., Edmund Jenks Jr., Fred H. MeAlley and Howard McAlley. Relatives were in attendance from East Berne, South Glens Falls and Athol.

Saratoga Springs Saratogian - January 28, 1935

Mrs, Edna Combs of Knox, died last week. Funeral services were held last Thursday in the Knox Reformed Church. Interment was at Knox Cemetery. She is,survived by two sons and her husband, Ralph Combs.
