Born in Berne Feb. 18, 1910; Harold Deitz was the son of the late Fred N. and Dora Haverly Deitz. He worked as an electrician and plumber in the Berne-Knox area. On Nov. lO, 1934 he married Edythe Vining and in 1955 they moved to Highland (Ulster Co.). In 1971 he retired from his work at Lake Mohonk, and when she retired in 1973 they moved to retirement homes in Silver Springs, Fla. and Knox.
Harold Deitz was a member of the First Reformed Church of Berne, the Berne Historical Society, and Hilltowns Senior Citizens. He had been a charter member of the Berne Fire Co. and a member of the Berne Tent 770 KOTM.
Surviving are his wife, Edythe V. Deitz; a daughter, Gail Wurzler of Wyalusing, Penn.; a son, James H. Deitz of Marietta, Ga.; a brother, Rev. Franklin S.
