History
- Dewitt C. Schoonmaker (1826-1905) operated the West Berne store from 1871 until 1898.
- It burned, and was rebuilt in 1900 and re-opened April 18, 1909.
- Isaac Barber Schoonmaker (1869-1951) operated store from 1898 until 1951. The store burned again in April 1903, and was rebuilt in December of that same year and is the present building still standing in West Berne.
- Arthur Schoonmaker (1902-1966) operated store from 1951 until 1966.
- Everett B. Schoonmaker Sr. and Everett Schoonmaker Jr. (Bud) operated store until August 31, 1982, when it was sold.
