Location
Rensselaerville District School No. 1 was located on Lot 302 which on the 1866 Beers Map was near Triangle lake. The History of Greene County, town of Durham, lists the school as joint with Rensselaerville with the schoolhouse being in Rensselaerville. The building is no longer standing.[1].
Known Teachers
Teachers known to have taught at #2 were Clayton Bouton, Edith Hale Baitsholts, Olive Baitsholts Lounsbury, Henrietta Rice, Miss Powell, Henry Felter, Suzy Feeck, Elizabeth Rivenburg and Bernice Filkins.[1]
Additional Notes
Note: A Mr. Victor George interviewed for the book People Made It Happen Here said he went to this school and knew is as #21. This school was later joined with Williamsburg #6.
