Kiwanis District Governor Visits Capital Division
"Now in its 61st year, Kiwanis International finds the challenge to service greater than before."
"At its origin, Kiwanis adopted the motto, 'We Build.' Today's society demands' that our future 'leaders' be molded" at ah" early age. Kiwanis sponsors three youth organizations: Builder's clubs for junior high school students, Key clubs_ for high school students, and Circle K clubs for college men and women."
"Through cooperative programs and projects, these young people learn the value of service to others and to their communities. In this way, Kiwanis is helping to insure Better citizens of tomorrow."
These were statements made by Erwin "Chick" Greenberg, New York district governor of Kiwanis International, in his official visit to the Capital division, consisting of nine clubs in the Albany area! held Saturday, Feb. 21, at the Quality Inn with some 200 Kiwanians and guests in attendance.
He stated further that "by extending Kiwanis service to more communities through the building ol new Kiwanis clubs, we have become an active deterrent to community decay."
Introduced by lieutenant governor Art Fleahman, Greenberg, a bowling proprietor in Queens county, is the 1975-76 district governor of the New York district of Kiwanis International, an organization of 340 clubs, with a membership in excess of 13,500 persons.
Entertainment for the evening was provided by Kiwanian Dan Driscoll of Knox, who demonstrated primitive - musical • instruments from all over the world.
