During its service, the regiment lost by death, killed in action, 66 enlisted men; of wounds received in action, 32 enlisted men; of disease and other causes, 1 officer, 293 enlisted men; total, 1 officer, 391 enlisted men; aggregate, 392; of whom 76 enlisted men died in the hands of the enemy.

Among those who died of disease

  • Silas White of Rensselaerville was an 18 year old Private of Company C who died of measles at the Regimental Hospital at Fort Marshall in Baltimore, MD on December 25, 1862. His remains were brought back to Preston Hollow for burial.

Among those disabled

  • George L. Stevenson of Rensselaerville was a Corporal in Company C when he was discharged for his disability on December 31, 1862 at Fort Marshall in Baltimore, MD
