During its service, the regiment lost by death, killed in action, 66 enlisted men; of wounds received in action, 32 enlisted men; of disease and other causes, 1 officer, 293 enlisted men; total, 1 officer, 391 enlisted men; aggregate, 392; of whom 76 enlisted men died in the hands of the enemy.
Among those who died of disease
- Silas White of Rensselaerville was an 18 year old Private of Company C who died of measles at the Regimental Hospital at Fort Marshall in Baltimore, MD on December 25, 1862. His remains were brought back to Preston Hollow for burial.

- George L. Stevenson of Rensselaerville was a Corporal in Company C when he was discharged for his disability on December 31, 1862 at Fort Marshall in Baltimore, MD
