The regiment lost during its service by death, killed in action, 10 officers, 73 enlisted men; of wounds received in action, 4 officers, 30 enlisted men; of disease and other causes, I officer, 126 enlisted men; total, 15 officers, 229 enlisted men; aggregate, 244; of whom 32 enlisted men died in the hands of the enemy.
Killed in action:
- Levi Boomhower of Westerlo was a 21 year old Private of Company D when he was killed in action at Savage’s Station, VA.
Died from wounds received in action:
- John Wright a native of Schoharie County and a resident of Westelo was 22 years old and a Private of Company D when he was wounded on May 6, 1864 at Wilderness, VA. He died from those wounds on July 17, 1865 at the Armory Square Hospital in Washington, DC.
- Isaac Stafford a native of Knox was 26 years old and a Private of Company H when he was wounded in action at Fredericksburg, VA on December 13, 1862 and died from those wounds on December 30, 1862 at Georgetown in Washington, DC. He left behind a widow and a small child.
