Birth
Vincenzo James Vicalvi was born August 28, 1920,[1] raised and educated in Worcester, Massachusetts, the son of the late Giuseppe and Maria Terzigno Vicalvi.[2]
Marriage and Children
James married Shirley G. _____ and they had five sons: Jim, Paul, Steve, Matthew, and Mark Vicalvi; and three daughters, Linda, Twila and Pamela Vicalvi.[2]
Occupation
James employed by Beltrone as a mason before retiring and moving to Port Orange, Florida where he was a Port Orange Police Dept. V.I.P. for a number of years.[2]
Military Service
Mr. Vicalvi was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and POW.[2]
Death
James Vicalvi passed away Saturday, December 20, 2003, at Hill Crest Springs.[2]
Burial
Interment will be on December 31, 2003, in Memory's Garden Cemetery, Colonie.[2]

AMSTERDAM -- James Vicalvi, 83, passed away Saturday, December 20, 2003 at Hill Crest Springs. Born, raised and educated in Worcester, Mass., he was the son of the late Giuseppe and Maria Terzigno Vicalvi and husband of the late Shirley G. Vicalvi. Mr. Vicalvi resided in Colonie and East Berne and was employed by Beltrone as a mason before retiring and moving to Port Orange, Fla. where he was a Port Orange Police Dept. V.I.P. for a number of years. Mr. Vicalvi was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and POW. He enjoyed woodcarving and will be remembered for his high work ethic. He is survived by five sons, Jim Vicalvi of Sturgis, Mich., Col. Paul Vicalvi of Ft. Leavenworth, Kan., Dr. Steve Vicalvi of Ridgeway, Colo., Matthew Vicalvi of Schenectady, N.Y. and Mark Vicalvi of Fla.; three daughters, Linda Reed of Broadalbin, N.Y., Twila DuBois of Milford, Del. and Pamela Barnes of Deland, Fla.; two brothers, John Vicalvi and Anthony Vicalvi; two sisters, Rosalie Nadeau and Frances VanLiew; 24 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Mr. Vicalvi was also predeceased by his brother, Lawrence Vicalvi and his sister, Vincenza Bilezerian. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 31, 2003 at the Tebbutt & Frederick Memorial Home, 633 Central Ave., Albany. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday. Interment will be in Memory's Garden Cemetery, Colonie.
