Birth

Jacob was born in Albany County, NY on February 15, 1798, a son of Peter Van Auken [1]and Sarah Kipp. His known siblings were:

  • Catlyntje (Catherine) Van Auken born on November 25, 1789 in Albany County[2]
  • Rachel Van Auken was christened on February 23, 1794 at Helderbergh RDC[2]
  • Sarah Van Auken was born on December 3, 1795 in Albany County[2]
  • Matthew Van Auken was born on April 2, 1800 in Albany County[2]
  • Peter Van Auken was born on December 2, 1801 in Albany County[2]
  • John Van Wagenen Van Auken was born on January 5, 1804 in Albany County[2]
  • Evert Van Auken was born on July 17, 1807 in Albany County[2]
  • Maria Van Auken was born on March 23, 1809 in Albany County[2]


Marriage & Children

At about 1819, Jacob married Elizabeth Sitterly who was born at about 1799 in Knox, a daughter of Jacob Sitterly and Apolonia Countryman[1]. Their known children were:

  • John Elisha Van Auken was born on March 12, 1823 in Knox[2]

Death

Jacob died on January 15, 1868 in Knox and was buried in the Van Auken Family burial ground there. [1]Elizabeth died on February 6, 1893 and was buried beside her husband. [1]
