Birth

James Udell was born in Westerlo, Albany County, NY in about 1836.[1] James William Udell was born in Westerlo in 1838, a son of William Udell[2](1791-1873) and Sophia[3] Wingard (1797-1886).

Death

James Udell died after being captured on June 16, 1864 and imprisoned at Andersonville prison.[1] He died on January 5, 1865 at Andersonville and was buried in grave number 12401.[1]
