Birth

Hiram Swan was born in 1813 in Knox, Albany Co., NY, a son of Nathaniel Swan and Harriet Shutter. [1]

Marriage & Children

At about 1839 he married Mary Van Auken who was born in Knox at about 1812,a daughter of James Van Auken and Nancy Lee. They had the following known children:

  • Erskine Swan who was born about 1840 in Knox. He died in March of 1865 at Albany from Typhoid Fever(1865 census, Knox)
  • Maryette Swan who was born about 1850 in Knox[1]

Death

Hiram died on June 27, 1854 and was buried at the Knox Cemetery in Knox, Albany Co., NY
