Birth

Keith W. Sturgess was born March 17, 1913, son of Lewis T. Sturgess and the late Jennie C. Lewis. His siblings were:

  • Earl J. Sturgess, R.D. Altamont married Miss Erna I. Weatherwax, daughter of Mrs. Nettie Weatherwax of 140 Washington Avenue, Albany
  • Victor C. Sturgess, R.D. Altamont married Ida Belle Sand, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Sand of Knox,
  • Dorothy Lewis married Howard Schoonmaker, Berne,

Education

Keith Sturgess attended district school No. 2, town of Knox, and later was graduated from the Altamont High School.

Occupation

Keith Sturgess followed the occupation of farming until about a year ago when his health forced him to retire.

Keith W. Sturgess

Keith W. Sturgess of West Township died in Albany hospital Wednesday, Feb. 27th (1952). He was in his 39th year.

Mr. Sturgess was born March 17, 1913, son of Lewis T. Sturgess and the late Jennie C. Lewis. He attended district school No. 2, town of Knox, and later was graduated from the Altamont High School. He followed the occupation of farming until about a year ago when his health forced him to retire.

Mr. Sturgess was married to Evelyn Abeel of Schenectady on April 12, 1947. Mrs Sturgess and one daughter, Charlene Ann, three years old, survive him. Other survivors are his father, Lewis T. Sturgess; two brothers, Earl and Victor Sturgess, and one sister, Mrs. Dorothy Schoonmaker.

Funeral services were held at the Fredendall Funeral Home, Altamont, Sunday afternoon. Rev. James E. Morecraft, pastor of St. John's Lutheran church, officiated. Interment was at Knox Cemetery

STURGESS—At Albany hospital, Feb. 27th, Keith W husband of Evelyn Abeel, father of Charlene Ann, son of Lewis T. Sturgess, brother of Earl and Victor Sturgess and Dorothy Schoonmaker. Funeral was held Sunday at 2 p. m. from the Fredendall Funeral Home, Altamont.
