She owned and operated Wagner's Restaurant in Schoharie for about a year, said her daughter. "She had a lot of interests," said Mrs. Lezatte. She filled her free time with crafts. Her daughter said she enjoyed crocheting and needlepoint.

Ruby Scheffel, a woman with varied interests and talents, died on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2003, at the Teresian House. She was 91.

"Whatever she did, she was perfect," said her daughter, Carol Lezatte. Mrs. Scheffel was born in Berne, the daughter of the late George and Anna Keyser Silvernail.

Mrs. Scheffel worked at the Watervliet Arsenal,' the Marcy Nursing Home in East Berne, and the former Madison Avenue Bank.

She owned and operated Wagner's Restaurant in Schoharie for about a year, said her daughter. "She had a lot of interests," said Mrs. Lezatte. She filled her free time with crafts. Her daughter said she enjoyed crocheting and needlepoint.

Mrs. Scheffel also prepared edible delights. "She had a lot of interest in baking," said her daughter.

She was a long-time member of the Glenmont Community Church.

Mrs. Scheffel is survived by two daughters, Virginia E. Mann and her late husband, Bill Mann, and current companion, Robert Clow, of East Berne, and Carol A. Lezatte, and her husband, Kenneth, of Glenmont; a son, Charles M. Groesbeck, and his wife, Phyllis, of Feura Bush; a step-daughter, Dorothy Vincent, and her husband, Gordon, of East Berne; and a step-son, Stuart Scheffel, of Santa Barbara, Calif. She is also survived by one brother, two sisters, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Her husband, Victor Scheffel; her son, Walter Weidman; and her step-son, Bruce Scheffel, died before her.

Services were held at the New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home in Colonie. She was buried in the Rensselaerville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Glenmont Community Church, 1 Chapel Lane, Glenmont, NY 12077.
