Birth

Joseph was born on March 28, 1917 (and raised) in Ehrefell, PA, he resided in Fair Lawn and Medusa, NY before moving to Saddle Brook.

Occupation

Prior to retiring in 1979, Joseph was employed as a photographer with Craftsman Photo in New York City for over twenty years.

Marriage and Children

Joseph married Laura Gerard and they were the parents of Joseph W. and Carol A. Shedlock.

Military Service

Mr. Shedlock was a proud Navy Veteran of World War II.

Death

Joseph died on July 29, 2008.

Burial

A funeral service was held Saturday, August 2, 2008, 12 PM at Vander Plaat Colonial Home, Inc., 13-31 Saddle River Road, Fair Lawn, NJ, 201-797-3500. Interment followed at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus.

SHEDLOCK, Joseph J. Joseph J., age 91, of Saddle Brook, NJ on Tuesday, July 29, 2008. Born and raised in Ehrefell, PA, he resided in Fair Lawn and Medusa, NY before moving to Saddle Brook. A proud Navy Veteran of World War II, he was a member of the V.F.W. Post 7229 in Oak Hill, NY, American Legion Post 0291 in Greenville, NY and Disabled American Veterans Post 186 in Green City, NY. Joseph was also a member of the Senior Clubs Rensselaerville and Coxsackie, NY. Prior to retiring in 1979, he was employed as a photographer with Craftsman Photo in New York City for over twenty years. Beloved wife of Laura (Gerard) Shedlock. Loving and devoted father of Joseph W. Shedlock and Carol A. Baeli and her husband, Joseph J., Jr. Cherished grandfather of Jacqueline Shedlock and Thomas Vander Weit. A funeral service is planned for Saturday, August 2, 2008, 12 PM at Vander Plaat Colonial Home, Inc., 13-31 Saddle River Road, Fair Lawn, NJ, 201-797-3500. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus. The family will receive relatives and friends Saturday 11 AM to 12 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Joseph may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 400 Morris Avenue, Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07834.
