Martha Settle married Ralph P. Abbott (Abt. 1829 - 1907), the son of William Abbott and Julia. Their children were:

  • Ellen Abbott (1853 - 21 AUG 1927) in 1873 married George A. Armstrong (13 JAN 1852 - ) the son of James Armstrong and Sarah (Sally) Tygert
  • Rozelle Abbott (7 JUN 1858 - 25 AUG 1947)on 16 DEC 1887 married Watson Zimmer (27 NOV 1856 - 29 JUL 1927) the son of Miner P. Zimmer and Mary E Hilsley

Mrs. Martha Abbott, who fell March 18 and sustained a broken hip, died Friday, April 6, of pneumonia. She was 81 years old. The funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Watson Zimmer. Mrs. Abbott united with the M. E. church when only a girl. She has always been a devoted Christian. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Watson Zimmer and Mrs. George Armstrong. Numerous other relatives and a host of friends morn her loss. The Rev. M. Zweizig of the M. E. church preached the funeral sermon. Burial was in the Woodlawn cemetery.

As we write we learn of the death of Mr. Ralph Abbott, an aged citizen, who has been in ill health for a long time. He was an upright, conscientious Christian gentleman. Deceased leaves a wife and two daughters, Mrs. George Armstrong and Mrs. Watson Zimmer, and a host of friends to mourn his loss.
