Ted worked for the Knox highway dept., was a bus mechanic for Berne-Knox school and in 1946 he bought a garage in East Berne (Quay's Garage) which he operated until he retired in 1986.

QUAY — Dec; 18, Theodore R. Quay of East Berne, husband of Margaret G. Quay, father of Barbara Hoerning of East Berne, Theodore R. Quay of Frederick, Maryland and Nancy Q. Milner, of Westerlo. Also survived by six grandchildren: Scott Hoerning of East Berne, Georgette Hoerning of Middletown, Stuart and Nathan Quay of Frederick, Maryland, Jennifer Anetzberger of East Berne, and Heather Frederickson of SUNY, Canton; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
