Birth

Mr. Borst was born in Berne, New York, [1] 25 Mar. 1921, son of William John Borst and Josie Dietz.[2]


Marriage and Children

Mr. Borst married Suzanne Marjorie Marden and they had two sons:

  • Donald Steven Borst b. 9 Nov. 1950
  • Paul W. Borst b. 27 Dec. 1948

Occupation

Mr. Borst was a chief claims agent for Conrail before retiring after 46 years of service.[1]


Military Service

Niles was an Army veteran of World War II.[1]


Death

Niles W. Borst of Port Charlotte died Wednesday, September 8, 1993, in St. Joseph's Hospital.[1]

Obituary

Niles W. Borst, 72, of Port Charlotte died Wednesday in St. Joseph's Hospital. Mr. Borst was born in Berne and moved to Port Charlotte from Pittsburgh more than five years ago. Mr. Borst was a chief claims agent for Conrail before retiring after 46 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion Post 110 and the R.S.V.P. Club, both in Port Charlotte. Mr. Borst was of the Dutch Reformed faith. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Suzanne M. Borst; two sons, Donald S. Borst of Saranac Lake and Paul W. Borst of Fort Montgomery, Orange County; a sister, Lila Berkeley of Troy; and five grandchildren. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. today in the Roberson Funeral Home Chapel, 2151 Tamiami Trail, Port Charlotte. Contributions may be made to the American Legion Education Fund, 252 Harbor Blvd., Port Charlotte, FL 33952.
