Birth
Bernice Ruth Miller, was born in Berne on October 6, 1914, daughter of Andrew J. Miller and Christina Grant Lendrum.
Marriage and Children
Bernice married John Yarmchuk August 7, 1937, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church and they had two children:
- Faye Louise Yarmchuk
- Joan Bernice Yarmchuk.
Education
Bernice graduated from the Altamont High School in 1932.
Occupation
Bernice became a homemaker and household executive for most of her life.
Organizations
She was a life member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Berne, a charter member of the Berne-Knox PTA, a 50 year member of Uhia Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, and a member of the Hilltowns Senior Citizens.
Death
Bernice passed away at the age of 83, after a brief illness, in Bassett Hospital, Cobleskill, Schoharie County on September 31, 1998. Her funeral was from St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Berne and she was buried in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Miss Bernice Ruth Miller Wed To John Yarmchuk
The marriage of Miss Bernice Ruth Miller, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew J. Miller, to John Yarmchuk, oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Yarmhuk, took place Saturday, Aug. 7, at 4 o'clock, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, which was decorated with a variety of summer flowers. Rev. Russell B. Greene officiated at the ceremony.
The bride, who was escorted to the altar by her father, wore a bridal gown of white satin with a long train and princess lace sleeves and a long tulle veil. She carried a bridal bouquet of white gladiolus, sweet pea, and baby breath.
Attendants were two matrons of honor, her sister, Mrs. Howard Wright, who wore a gwwn of pink crepe de chene, and her cousin, Mr. Raymond Lendrum, who wore an aqua crepe de chene gown. Both matrons wore aqua Dutch hats tied with pink satin ribbon at the back, and carried bouquets of pink gladiolus and baby breath.
Miss Shirley Barton was the flower girl, and wore white organdy, and carried a basket of bachelor buttons and baby breath.
Howard Wright was Mr. Yarmchuk's best man, and Raymond Lendrum was usher.
Preceding the ceremony, Miss Blanche R. Beebe, cousin of the bride, sang two solos, "O Promise Me" and 'I Love You Truly" accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Donald Weidman, who played the wedding march.
Immediately following the ceremony at the church, wedding cake was given each person by Miss Clara Zimmer and Miss Bernice Shultes.
Seventy-five guests were present at the reception at the home of the bride. For traveling the bride wore blue net over taffeta with white accessories.
The couple will spend their honeymoon touring the New England states and upon their return will reside in Berne.
