ALBANY Barbara Jean Michalski, 86, of Albany, passed away on Sunday, June 6, 2010 after a brief illness.
She was born May 5, 1924 in West Springfield, Mass. and was the daughter of the late William J. and Sophia Wemyss Whyte Craig. Barbara was a graduate of West Springfield High School and attended the American International College and American Institute of Banking. She enjoyed skiing, traveling, camping, golfing and sewing.
Barbara was predeceased in 1989 by her husband, Chester Michalski. She is the beloved mother of Cynthia J. Visker (Edward) of Lewisberry, Pa. and Barbara E. Michalski of Albany. She is the cherished grandmother of Heather Cross (Brad) of Bonaire, Ga., Melissa Visker of Hershey, Pa. and Lacey Visker of Lewisberry, Pa.; great-grandmother of Sophia Cross. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Barbara will be dearly missed by her cat, Alexander Duncan. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Knox Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mohawk & Hudson River Humane Society, Oakland Ave., Menands, NY 12204 in memory of Barbara J. Michalski.
