Birth

William Hungerford was born in Berne on December 11, 1819 a son of Isaac Hungerford and Jemima Tygert. [1]

Marriage & Children

He married in Berne at the Thompsons Lake Reformed Church on November 8, 1843, Catherine Winne, who was born on September 4, 1819, a daughter of John Benjamin Winne and Magdalen Houck[1]

Additional Remarks: Enlisted at the age of 44 to serve 3 years. After his disability discharge in January of 1863, it appears that William went to Whitehall, NY and enlisted in Company of the 2nd Vet. Cavalry but there are no records beyond that enlistment available through the AG reports.

Born in Albany County, NY, Stone cutter, Blue eyes, Dark hair, Light Complexion, 5’10-1/2” tall. [2]
