Benjamin was born in Berne at about 1836, a son of William and Sophia Hungerford.

He married at about 1857, Henrietta Layman who was born in NY at about 1841 and had the following known children:

This family resided in the City of Albany from before 1870 to 1880. There is no further information about them except for Louis/Lewis who went to Ontario, Canada and died there in 1935.
