He married Tina Maria Sickles (B. 4/1841 d. aft. 1900, Knox)on October 14, 1865 at the Lutheran church in Schoharie. Her parents were John Sickles and Maria Hoose. They had 7 children: John, Elizabeth, Libbie, Augustus, Frank, Charles and Effie.
