Edwin Eugene Hannay was born 25 APR 1898, the son of Edwin Eugene Hannay (19 FEB 1861 - 25 FEB 1951) and Martha Louise Ford (7 MAY 1868 - 1 MAY 1954). His siblings were:

Edwin Hannay of Rockledge, Fla., formerly of Westerlo, married Florence Hanes on Oct. 12, 1921, by Rev. Jerome Gould, now of Hampton, N. J. Florence E. Hanes (30 MAY 1901 - 21 JAN 1994) was the daughter of Ambrose S. Hanes and Bertha E.

Their children were:

  • Carolyn Hannay - Mr. and Mrs. Peter Long (Carolyn), of Merritt Island.
  • Richard Hannay

Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Hannay of Rockledge, Fla., formerly of Westerlo, on their 50th wedding anniversary. Florence Hanes and Edwin were married on Oct. 12, 1921, by Rev. Jerome Gould, now of Hampton, N. J.

On Sunday, Oct. 10, they will be honored at an open house given them by their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hannay, moved to Florida earlier and by their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Long (Carolyn), of Merritt Island. When Mr. Hannay retired they too went to live in Florida, where the climate benefited his health. Pete and Josie soon followed.

The four grandchildren, Curtis and Keith Hannay and Noreen and Ricky Long will share in the festivities. Not all of their area friends and relatives can be there but all send best wishes fur a happy time and many more years together.

Miss Carolyn Hannay, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Hannay of Westerlo, became the bride of Peter W. Long, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer P. Long of East Berne, in First Baptist church, Westerlo.

Rev; Robert Fitzgerald officiated at the ceremony. The wedding music was played by Miss Joan Cooke, with Kenneth Long, brother of the groom as soloist.

The bride was given in marriage by her father.

Honor attendants. were Mrs. Homer Warner of East Berne, matron of honor; Mrs. Robert Shaw of Westerlo and Miss Margaret Kotovitch of Roosevelt, Long Island, bridesmaids. Charles Comstock of Copiague, L . L, was best man.

Ushers were Robert and Roger Hannay of Westerlo, and Joseph Benedict of East Berne, all cousins of the bride and groom.

A reception followed in the church fellowship rooms. After a honeymoon in the Adirondacks,Mr. and Mrs. Long will be at home at Plain Rd., R. D. 1; New Paltz.
