Ambrose S. Hanes

Ambrose S Hanes, lifetime resident of Westerlo, died at his home Sunday (April 24, 1955) afternoon following a long illness.

Funeral service with Rev. Robert A. Fitzgerald officiating, was held Wednesday afternoon at the Westerlo Baptist church. Interment was in Westerlo Rural cemetery.

Mr Hanes was born in Westerlo Sept 25, 1873 son of the late Luther and Emeline Koonz Hanes. For many years he operated a farm at Westerlo and in later years took up the trade of carpenter and builder.

Surviving are his wife the former Bertha E. Bates; one daughter, Mrs Edwin Hannay, Westerlo, one sister, Mrs. Margaret Moak, Westerlo; two brothers, David of Westerlo, and Orson of Albany, two grandchildren Richard Hannay, Rockledge, Fla and Carolyn Hannay, Westerlo; two great grandchildren, Curtis and Keith Hannay, Rockledge, Fla.
