Birth

Henry was born on January 16, 1907 in New York City.

Occupation

Mr. Giebitz was a material inspector at the Watervliet Arsenal. After retiring from there, he was a timekeeper for the Albany County Highway Department.[1]

Military Service

He was an Army veteran of World War II, during which he served in New Guinea and the Philippines.[1]

Death

Henry died May 6, 1994 in St. Peter's Hospice in Albany, New York.

Burial

Mr. Giebetz was buried on May 9, 1994 in the South Berne Cemetery.

Obituary WESTERLO Henry Giebitz, 87, of Echo Point Road died Friday in St. Peter's Hospice in Albany. He was born in New York City. He was an Army veteran of World War II, during which he served in New Guinea and the Philippines. Mr. Giebitz was a material inspector at the Watervliet Arsenal. After retiring from there, he was a timekeeper for the Albany County Highway Department. He was a former member of the Green Island Elks Lodge. He is survived by a niece and three nephews, including Paul Giebitz of East Berne. A service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in the Cunningham Funeral Home, Greenville. Burial will be in South Berne Cemetery. Published in the Albany Times Union, Perspective Section, Page E6, 8 May 1994 Issue.
